The Rotary Club of Warwick @ City Center Newport News is hosting its 10th Annual “Bacon Bash – A Bacon, Beer & Bourbon Affair” on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Held at the Virginia Living Museum, Bacon Bash features a variety of bacon-themed dishes from some of the area’s best restaurants, a “People’s Choice Award” chosen by the event attendees, a signature beverage battle between local bartenders, Virginia bourbon tasting, beer from Virginia’s finest microbreweries, wine, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

Since 2014, with help from sponsors like you, our signature charity event has raised over $155,000 with the net proceeds supporting charities such as The Rotary Foundation, the Virginia Living Museum, Polio Plus, the VA Peninsula Foodbank, Mayor’s Book Club, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Disaster Aid, and many more! In addition, proceeds have supported many club service projects focusing on needs right here in the local community.

The Virginia Living Museum

In 1967, in conjunction with the Junior League of Hampton Roads, our Rotary Club founded the Peninsula Nature and Science Center, now known as the Virginia Living Museum.

Since then our club has been a major supporter of the museum and its mission to connect people to nature through educational experiences that promote conservation.

The Rotary Foundation

Since its founding more than 100 years ago, the Rotary Foundation has awarded more than $4 billion for life-changing, sustainable projects.

The Foundation awarded $130 million in funding to 2,066 grant projects during 2021. These projects focused on disease prevention, providing clean water, supporting education, growing local economies, saving mothers and children and promoting peace.
